Masterpiece Theatre's England
April 27May 7, 2007
This trip has already occurred. See upcoming WGBH LearningTours.
This spectacular tour focuses on three of the giants of British dramatic art. On the heels of last season's magnificent rendition of Bleak House, we'll investigate the world and works of Charles Dickens, and in anticipation of this season's upcoming adaptation of Jane Eyre, we'll explore the lives and literature of the Brontë sisters. And of course, no journey through the dramatic landscape of Britain would be complete without a trip to Stratford-Upon-Avon to study the bard, William Shakespeare. Over nine exciting days, we will enjoy the finest in British stagecraft featuring well-known Masterpiece Theatre actors, exclusive presentations on the history and behind-the-scenes magic of dramatic production, and tours of both the locations that inspired our literary triumvirate and those used in the translation of those works to your TV screen. Join us!
