Cead míle fáilte—a hundred thousand welcomes! Our fifth annual WGBH LearningTour to Ireland finds us visiting both classic destinations and hidden jewels of the northern provinces of Ireland. From the wild country of Donegal to the stunning coast of Lough Swilly, from the majestic Giant's Causeway of North Antrim to the megalithic tombs of Newgrange, we'll be accompanied every mile of the way by Brian O'Donovan, host of WGBH 89.7's A Celtic Sojourn, and Robbie O'Connell, who'll share their knowledge of the finest sights, sounds, and tastes of Ireland. We'll savor hearty Irish breakfasts and gourmet dinners daily, and enjoy some of Ireland's most spectacular scenery.
Best of all, we'll be steeped in the traditional music of Ireland. Brian and Robbie will discuss Irish music and its players, and introduce us to their favorite songs and tunes. We'll end each day with a lively traditional Irish "session," where we'll frequently be joined by special guests, including some of the best musicians in Ireland!
