WGBH LearningTour: PTV at Sea
PTV at Sea; Public Television at Sea
May 12—23, 2007

This trip has already occurred. See upcoming WGBH LearningTours.

Join us for a spectacular cruise to the most scenic ports and waterways of the Pacific Northwest and Alaska with your favorite public broadcasting personalities and some very special guest experts.

Aboard ship will be Gwen Ifill of PBS' Washington Week and The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer; Scott Simon, host of NPR's Weekend Edition; Charlie Cook, Washington's top pollster and authority on US elections and political trends; Ric Burns, documentary filmmaker and writer of The Way West, Ansel Adams, and co-producer (with his brother, Ken) and writer of the celebrated PBS series The Civil War; David Lee, co-writer of The Jeffersons and Cheers, and co-creator of Wings and Frasier; and Scott Ellis, award-winning Broadway director, whose specials have appeared on PBS's Great Performances.

Expect in-depth and engaging explorations of politics and current events, film, theater, and television with these knowledgeable PBS personalities and special guests. Participate in interactive panel discussions with the hosts, meet them at social events, go with them on excursions, and talk to them at private dinners and receptions. Partake in wine tasting events focusing on the best of California, Oregon, and Washington wines. Develop your skills with workshops on photography and enjoy presentations by world-renowned ocean environmental expert Jean Michel Cousteau.
